Bapu ko gaali bakni hai???

Aur kuch ho-na-ho, yeh bahot aasaan hai.

Aasaan – Kehne ko sirf ek shabd, ek sahuliyat – Mann-marzi karne ki, kehne ki, sunne ki, uthne-baithne ki, hasne-bolne ki, nafrat karne ki, makkari sehne hi, gaddari karne ki aur aiyaashi mein doob jaane ki.

Insaan aaj har kadam, har lamha, har kaam mein sahuliyat dhoondhta hai. Ek aisa maadhyam joh ho ke bhi nahin hai.

Main samjhaane ki koshish karta hoon… Aapne kabhi kisi nooton ke bundle ko, khoon ke ilzaam mein phaansi pe latakte hue suna hai??? NAHIN! Kyon ki woh ho ke bhi nahin hai. Ek aisi aatma, joh jiski jeb mein ho usi ka shareer odh leti hai. Usi ki ghulami, usi ki seva, ussi ko sahuliyat pradan karne mein lag jaati hai. Jaisa ki maine pehle bhi kaha… Paisa ek ‘maadhyam’ aur sahuliyat aaj ‘lakshya’ ban chuki hai.

Ek vaakya yaad aa raha hai…

“Humse hamari sahuliyat mat cheeno, paisa jitna chaho hum pahucha denge.”

Kyon ki ‘aasaan’ ab kewal ek shabd nahin balki humari ragon mein daudta hua woh khoon hai, joh khaulna bhool gaya hai. Main toh yahan tak kahunga… ki kalyug mein vinaash se thik pehle ke samay ko, ek “aasaan yug” ke naam se jaana jaayega. Aasaan vichar, raaste aur aadarshon ka yug.

Enough. Let’s get busy celebrating the most ‘convenient times’ before the end.

Jai Hind!

*Faisla*

Har umeed ke aage,
ek hasta-muskurata kal nahin hota.
Har adhure khawab ke peeche,
kachchi neend ka sahara nahin hota.

Yun toh dum bhar ke liya tha loha humne.
Par eyn-waqt par tamancha mukar jaaye,
toh phir muqabla... nahin hota.

Key...
Khaali haath, samjhaute hua karte hain.
Kabhi 'faisla'... nahin hota.

Har umeed ke aage,
ek hasta-muskurata kal nahin hota.

NO ONE KILLED JESSICA

Turned out to be an “Open and shut case”. Well, its not everyday that our judiciary system favours the oppressed. And hence I really expected to see an empty house on Monday night. To my amazement it was full.

The walk out of it unveiled that most of them were disappointed (including me) as the film failed to add any ‘spicy masala’  to our existing knowledge of the case. Hence, the question I really started asking myself was that “Did this film really deserve my money?” I could not answer why I wanted to see this film, may be because of its music but then I started to look for an easier question. And that was; “Why would someone expect me to see it?”

If the objective was to prove the strength of common motive and mass appeal, then I think the people who are thoroughly appreciating the film, better known as the ‘multiplex audience’ are more than aware. Those who don’t fall under this new found classification of awakened Indians. Believe me, will not watch it either.

So what was the objective? To earn easy, unworthy publicity on the name of a much hyped and talked about case. And then sit back and hope for a blockbuster hit? Well, from a man who made his debut with “AAMIR?” I think NO.

Well, the objective as some of my friends insist, could also be to reinforce the strength of public vote. To instill hope in our middle class hearts that ‘Justice cannot be denied” and “United we stand”. Now if that was it, I think there are a lot of other films which have done a better job. For e.g. RDB.

So what was Raj Kumar Gupta thinking when he made this movie??? First of all he picked up a subject that is no longer provocative, sounds close to a documentary and then on top of that decides to define all the characters so crudely and truly, that they all started to look real and ugly. Like us.

I thought for a while and a strong ‘anchor’ started to appear, that defines the reason to 'still' make this project. Dilli. I think (in my humble capacity) that the director was only, and only thinking about the Capital while writing and directing this film. You can pick Rani’s insightful narration, police inspector’s blatant acceptance, judge’s impervious yawns, masses and their herd mentality or the politicians - their darned ignorance and unshakable belief that they can walk out of it ‘clean’.

Well, all these will start pointing towards one word, and that would be - ‘Dilli’.

Good Show, RKG!
After all, the Bitch is always right.

*Subah*

Jeene ki jab raah na mile,
Chaon tale jab saanp pale,
Khushiyon ki jab darkaar na ho,
Phir uth ke sambhalne ki... chah na rahe.

Ki… Duur kahin 'subah' hone ko hai!
Yeh ehsaas, ab mera dum todne ko hai.
Umeed bhari meri roti, yeh be-mausam barsaat,
bheego'ne ko hai.

Aa jhoom ke aaja saawan,
key mann yeh mera ab,
doob'ne ko hai.
